Updating microsoft windows xp professional
As of November 2017, the latest major update for Windows 8 is Windows 8.1 Update.
The latest service packs for other versions of Microsoft Windows include Windows Vista SP2, Windows XP SP3, and Windows 2000 SP4.
Notice that two of the displayed updates are for WEPOS (Windows Embedded Point of Service) and Windows POSReady 2009.
The others are for Windows Server 2003, which runs the same kernel and many other components as Windows XP.
You can call the IWindows Update Agent Info:: Get Info method to get current version info about WUA, but you can't determine if that version is the latest.
If you receive a WU_E_SELFUPDATE_REQUIRED error message when you use the WUA API to perform a scan, download, or install, this error tells you that the version of WUA is out of date.
Service packs will not be released. Windows 7 SP1 and the April 2015 Servicing Stack Update both must be installed prior to installing the Convenience Rollup. Windows Vista SP2 can only be installed if you already have Windows Vista SP1 installed, which you can download here for 32-bit versions, and here for 64-bit ones. Windows XP SP3 can only be installed if you already have Windows XP SP1a or Windows XP SP2 installed.
When necessary, to ensure that users have the latest WUA, prompt them to install KB949104 or the latest WUA.
