Project automatically assigns that resource to each instance. Project gives recurring tasks the highest priority, which means it won’t split or delay them when it levels the resources assigned to them.Resource leveling is an advanced project management concept that involves spreading work evenly among the people working on the project. -- Regards Judy Gleeson MVP Outlook Trainer and Consultant My suggested settings for Outlook 2003 are FREE on my website. Microsoft is conducting an online survey to understand your opinion of the Technet Web site. You can make any existing task into a recurring task by simply using the Recurrence button at the top of the task window.
Outlook can track the progress of a task assigned to one person.
Outlook is indeed perfectly capable of doing this but the design of the Reminders window allows you to quickly “break” Recurring Tasks when you press the Dismiss button. While it is perfectly fine to press the Dismiss button for Recurring Appointments and Meetings, for Recurring Tasks this won’t result in a new Task item with a new reminder.
Instead, you’ll only disable the reminder for that occurrence of the Task.
I’ve created several Recurring Tasks to remind me of some daily and weekly chores such as taking my medicine, taking out the trash can and making (or actually checking) my back-ups.
However, even though I’ve set the recurrence correctly, I’m only being reminded for the first occurrence and then never again. Surely I’m overlooking something here as I assume Outlook is perfectly capable of doing this? After you create a task and assign it to someone, you might have some management duties to perform in maintaining it until it is complete.
